To be Canadian means to be shaped by all that is around us. We enjoy or rather endure cold winters and hot summers. It means that we take pride in our sports and accomplishments that fellow Canadians have achieved like writing a book or inventing new technology. It means to have a love for a landscape of mountains, rivers, lakes, wide plains, large forests, and miles of coasts. It means to enjoy freedoms of all kinds like the free health care and others. It means to value being friendly, polite, and accepting of all people.
When people from other countries think of Canada and Canadians they think of dog sleds and igloos. they believe that everyone plays hockey and says "eh." They think that everyone either knows one another or is related. they also believe that Canadians are like the depictions of Canadians in movies like "Strange Brew." This is what it means to be Canadian.
